This conceptual screenprint by Wolf Vostell is a powerful example of his pioneering role within the Fluxus movement and early media art.

The work is signed in pencil lower right and numbered lower left, and executed in black and grey on smooth wove paper, confirming its authenticity and quality.

The composition presents a photographic image of the iconic Piazza San Marco in Venice, disrupted in a surreal manner by a monumentally placed household appliance by KRUPS. This unexpected confrontation between history and consumer culture is characteristic of Vostell’s work, in which he critically reflects on mass media, technology, and modern society.

The grainy, raster-like image structure refers to the aesthetics of early television and print techniques, reinforcing his exploration of the visual language of media and reproduction. The work transforms a familiar cultural landmark into a charged image of tension and irony.
