2021

A powerful and minimalist original ink drawing on Heavy Paper by acclaimed Dutch artist Jan Henderikse. Executed in bold black brushstrokes on thick, high-quality paper, the composition reflects Henderikse’s refined sense of form, rhythm, and conceptual clarity. The graphic simplicity and gestural movement recall both calligraphic abstraction and the expressive legacy of post-war European art.

The artwork is hand-signed and dated by the artist in pencil in the lower right corner: "J. Henderikse 2021.”

Professionally framed, mounted floating on linen, in a custom-made wooden frame, handmade in the Netherlands, with high-quality Plexiglas® Optical HC, for visual clarity and protects the delicate print.
Size framed: approx. 65 x 50 cm

Jan Henderikse (b. 1937) is a key figure in post-war Dutch art and co-founder of the NUL group, the Dutch equivalent of the international ZERO movement. Known for his radical use of everyday objects, assemblage, and repetition, Henderikse’s work explores themes of seriality, identity, and conceptual transformation. His practice spans various media including installation, photography, and print, but his ink drawings reveal a rare, distilled form of expression that is both intimate and direct.
