The composition reflects Rauschenberg innovative approach to collage, merging abstract and figurative elements with everyday materials to create a layered, textural effect. His signature technique of combining photographic imagery with real-life objects is evident here, reinforcing his exploration of the relationship between art and the everyday world.

Robert Rauschenberg (1925 - 2008) excels when he produces homogeneity out of heterogeneous elements and a new image by fusing the icons of Schwitters and Albers. Rauschenberg has become deceitfully simple. He delights in exploiting the technical process of reproduction for unexpected effects. The juxtaposition of vivid color elements, fragmented photographic imagery, and raw materials makes this work a prime example of Rauschenbergs experimental vision that bridges Pop Art, Abstract Expressionism, and Dadaist influences
