Sam Francis (1923-1994) first discovered art after being injured during World War II. He developed his distinctive style in the 1950s while living in Paris and Japan. In the 1960s, Francis returned to California, where he developed his personal Dripping technique, creating circular and splattered movements that redefined action painting. In addition to painting, he mastered other techniques, including lithography, etching, and monotype, further expanding his artistic legacy.
