This powerful color lithograph by Robert Longo dates from 1986 and reflects the artist’s unmistakable visual language rooted in tension, control, and psychological intensity. Executed on high-quality Somerset handmade paper, the composition combines stark black architectural forms with a deep blue circular field, overlaid by vivid red, diagrammatic line work. The contrast between rigid geometry and expressive, almost cartographic markings creates a dynamic image that resonates with themes of power, structure, and human presence.

The lithograph is hand-signed and dated “Robert Longo 86” and numbered, confirming its authenticity as part of a limited edition. It was published by Galerie Bernd Klüser in collaboration with Edition Schellmann, Munich and New York, both renowned for producing significant editions by leading contemporary artists. Sheet size is approx. 80 x 60 cm.

Robert Longo, born (1953) and based in New York, is a key figure of the Pictures Generation.
