This original mixed media relief work from 1962 is executed in thick silver acrylic paint, pencil, and felt-tip pen on paper. The composition is defined by a refined rhythmic structure of repeated horizontal elements, combined with precise linear accents and a restrained, industrial aesthetic. The use of silver acrylic with a subtle relief texture creates delicate light reflections across the surface, emphasizing Walter Leblanc’s ongoing fascination with materiality, structure, and visual vibration.

The work is signed “walter leblanc” at the lower center and dated “6.1.–1.2.62” at the lower right. It was conceived as a design for a poster and reflects Leblanc’s experimental approach to graphic and spatial composition. Sheet size: 42 × 35 cm.

Walter Leblanc (1932–1986) was a leading Belgian post-war artist and a key figure within the ZERO movement and international abstract art of the 1960s. He gained international recognition for his torsions, relief-like works that employ industrial materials and repetitive systems to explore light, movement, and perception. Leblanc’s practice moves fluidly between painting, object, and conceptual art, aligning closely with the radical artistic innovations that defined European avant-garde art of the post-war period.
