Yoko Ono (b. 1933) is a renowned Japanese multimedia artist, singer, songwriter, and peace activist whose work spans performance art, filmmaking, and conceptual art. A key figure in New York City's Fluxus movement during the early 1960s, Ono gained worldwide fame in 1969 after marrying John Lennon of The Beatles. Since then, she has remained an influential artist and activist, with her groundbreaking work featured in major museums and exhibitions, including the MoMA New York and the Tate Modern.
