Original color photograph by Imi Knoebel,, a striking example of the artists exploration of form, color, and spatial relationships.

Monogrammed (I.K.) and dated 1988 by hand on the reverse (visible through plexiglas window)

Printed on Kodak photo paper, the composition presents a minimalist scene featuring geometric architectural elements, where a red and white structure are set against a textured, almost abstract backdrop. The careful play of light, shadow, and materiality reflects Knoebels interest in the balance between abstraction and representation.

Professionally framed, floated in a custom-cut, thick acid-free passe-partout, in a high-quality, handcrafted wooden frame with PLEXIGLAS Optical HC, scratch-resistant and UV-protected. Framed approx. 54 x 44 cm

Imi Knoebel (b. 1940) is a German contemporary artist, internationally renowned for his pioneering work in Minimalism and abstraction. A student of Joseph Beuys at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, Knoebel developed a highly distinctive visual language that emphasizes the fundamental elements of color, form, and composition. His works often feature pure geometric shapes, industrial materials, and a strong emphasis on spatial relationships, challenging traditional distinctions between painting, sculpture, and photo

Knoebels art is widely exhibited in major international museums, including the Centre Pompidou (Paris), MoMA (New York), and Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam). His experimental approach, often involving vibrant color fields and minimalist structures, places him among the most influential figures in post-war European abstraction.
