SitterArt is located in an exceptional cultural and artistic center in St. Gallen, which also hosts the Sitterwerk and the Kunstgiesserei St. Gallen. This unique location unites craftsmanship, innovation, and world-class art in an inspiring environment.
The Sitterwerk is internationally renowned for its specialized art library with around 25,000 books on art, architecture, photography, and material research. It also features an impressive material archive and artist studios, where artists work on large-scale projects.
The Kunstgiesserei St. Gallen is one of the leading art foundries worldwide, producing sculptural masterpieces for renowned artists such as Robert Indiana, Jim Dine, Urs Fischer, Sean Scully, Jenny Holzer, Hans Arp, and Paul McCarthy. By combining traditional casting techniques and craftsmanship with cutting-edge digital technologies such as 3D scanning, 3D printing, and milling, artworks are created that find their way into museums, public collections, and private collections worldwide.
SitterArt presents its extensive collection on an exhibition space of more than 700 m². The immediate proximity to these leading institutions enhances the quality, authenticity, and prestige of every artwork on display.
Our experienced team combines decades of expertise in the art market with in-depth knowledge of real estate development and hospitality & leisure projects. We research, evaluate, and acquire artworks for external financial institutions. In addition, we operate our own financing company and a specialized leasing and rental company for corporate art.
Our background includes large-scale real estate projects where art has always played a central role in aesthetic impact and value enhancement. A notable example is the development of Nagasaki Holland Village in Japan by a member of our team – a project where art and architecture merged at the highest level.
These projects and activities have significantly contributed to the building of our collections, parts of which are now on display at our St. Gallen location. A substantial part of our artworks is currently part of active leasing and rental programs and therefore not fully visible on our website.
