This exhibition explored Pettibon’s powerful, subversive imagery, showcasing his influence on both contemporary art and punk culture. The artwork on the poster features one of Pettibon’s signature hand-drawn ink and watercolor illustrations, portraying a tough, weathered punk figure with a multicolored mohawk and a rainbow-striped shirt. 

Born in 1957, Raymond Pettibon rose to fame in the late 1970s and 1980s, creating album covers, posters, and flyers for punk bands like Black Flag and Sonic Youth. Pettibon’s work often critiques politics, media, violence, and pop culture, making this image a strong reflection of his career-long explorations. His DIY, underground style, infused with dark humor, political satire, and literary references, has since evolved into a widely recognized form of contemporary art. His works are included in major museum collections.
