The poster’s playful and expressive design embodies the essence of Rauschenberg’s creative philosophy. Featuring collaged images of salvaged materials and handwritten text in bold, colorful strokes, it mirrors the dynamic and eclectic nature of the Gluts series. This body of work was inspired by Rauschenberg’s visit to Texas during an economic downturn, where he observed abandoned gas stations, signage, and industrial waste left in the wake of an oil industry collapse. These found objects became the foundation for Gluts, sculptures that highlighted themes of excess, waste, and the environmental cost of industrialization.

Robert Rauschenberg (1925–2008) was a pioneer of post-war American art and is widely regarded as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. Known for his "Combines"—hybrid works that fused painting and sculpture—Rauschenberg broke traditional artistic boundaries, incorporating everyday objects, photographs, and discarded materials into his art. His work blurred the line between art and life, encouraging viewers to see beauty and meaning in the mundane.
