This minimalist composition by Blinky Palermo (born Peter Heisterkamp) exemplifies the artist’s subtle yet powerful visual language. The work, a Color Offset Print on Thin Card, features a single hexagonal form, printed in muted color tones on a wide, empty field—highlighting Palermo’s interest in space, reduction, and the interplay of form and void.

Blinky Palermo (1943–1977) was an influential figure in post-war German abstraction. A student of Joseph Beuys, Palermo adopted his pseudonym in 1964—borrowing the name of an American mobster and boxing promoter—as an ironic gesture reflecting the conceptual currents of the time.
Palermo’s oeuvre bridges painting, object art, and minimalism, with clear influences from American artists such as Donald Judd. His work is recognized for its exploration of color, structure, and material presence, often through deceptively simple geometries and quiet gestures.
