Hand signed by Pierre Alechinsky, lower left. This vibrant exhibition poster was special created by Pierre Alechinsky for the Pierre Alechinsky retrospective at the Saarland Museum in Saarbrücken, 1994. Sheet size : 84.4 x 59.8 cm.

The exhibition, titled "Zwischen den Zeilen" (Between the Lines), showcased Alechinsky’s signature abstract style, filled with expressive lines, dynamic movement, and bold colors.
The poster itself reflects Alechinsky’s spontaneous and gestural artistic approach, blending calligraphic strokes with surreal and organic forms. The combination of orange, green, purple, and magenta against a white background creates a striking visual impact, inviting viewers into his world of expressive abstraction. Alechinsky’s works often explore the relationship between form and space, balancing chaos and structure in a uniquely poetic way.

Pierre Alechinsky (b. 1927) is a Belgian painter and printmaker, best known for his association with the CoBrA movement, an avant-garde art group active in the late 1940s and early 1950s. CoBrA artists, including Asger Jorn, Karel Appel, and Corneille, rejected traditional artistic conventions in favor of spontaneous expression, raw energy, and childlike creativity. Alechinsky’s work is deeply influenced by this movement, as well as by Japanese calligraphy and surrealism. His art is exhibited in major institutions worldwide, including the Centre Pompidou, MoMA, and the Tate Modern.
