This original screen print from 1979 is a dynamic and iconic work by Arman, one of the leading figures of Nouveau Réalisme. This screen print features a dense, circular composition built from repeated impressions of a water pump pliers shape. The distinctive jaws and curved handles of the tool are clearly recognizable, yet through repetition they lose their purely functional identity and become abstract visual units.

The work is hand-signed in pencil by Arman at the lower right and numbered in pencil at the lower left. This is a special AP edition (Artist’s Proof), which is particularly desirable among collectors.

The work is a screen print on Vélin d’Arches paper, bearing the Arches watermark.  Sheet size approx : 76 × 56 cm

Arman (Armand Pierre Fernandez, 1928–2005) was a leading figure of the Nouveau Réalisme movement and one of the most influential artists of postwar European art. He is best known for his Accumulations, Assemblages, and Poubelles, in which everyday objects such as tools, musical instruments, and consumer goods are repeated, fragmented, or encased to explore themes of mass production, consumption, and modern society. Arman’s graphic works translate these ideas into print, using bold compositions and layered imagery to echo his sculptural practice. His prints are highly regarded for their strong visual impact and their direct connection to his iconic three-dimensional works.
