This rare and historically significant drawing by Stanley Brouwn is part of his seminal conceptual series This Way Brouwn, initiated in the early 1960s. Executed as a mixed media drawing in felt-tip pen and stamp on paper, the work consists of a simple, hand-drawn route diagram accompanied by the stamped text “THIS WAY BROUWN”. The drawing exemplifies Brouwn’s conceptual art practice, focusing on movementdistanceorientation, and human perception, key themes within Post-War Conceptual Art and the ZERO Movement.

The artwork is elegantly framed in our own professional frame shop and presented floating in a custom-made, acid-free passe-partout, in an exclusive handcrafted wooden frame with Plexiglas® Optical HC, which is UV-resistant, scratch-proof, and significantly lighter than standard glass. Size framed approx. ca.50 x 60 cm

Stanley Brouwn (1935, Suriname – 2017, Amsterdam) is regarded as one of the most important figures in European Conceptual Art. Active primarily in the Netherlands, he was introduced to the ZERO Movement through close contact with artist Armando and other ZERO-associated artists. Brouwn achieved international recognition for his systematic investigations into walkingmeasuringdistance, and human movement. His work is held in major institutional collections worldwide. He consistently rejected traditional art-world conventions, often refusing exhibitions, catalogues, and photography of his work, reinforcing the radical conceptual integrity of his practice
