This unique assemblage is a beautiful example of Daniel Spoerri's fascination with memory, transformation and the poetic potential of everyday objects. 

This work was included in the exhibition Nouveau Réalisme at the Kunsthalle Krems, Austria, in 2010–2011.

The composition combines an engraved illustration of intertwined hands with carefully selected found objects, including shells, natural fibres, cord, metal elements and organic materials. By bringing together drawing and three-dimensional objects, Spoerri transforms an ordinary image into a richly layered artwork that invites contemplation and multiple interpretations.

Daniel Spoerri (1930–2024) was one of the leading figures of post-war European art and an internationally celebrated pioneer of the Nouveau Réalisme movement. Best known for his iconic "snare-pictures" (Tableaux Pièges) and innovative assemblages, he transformed everyday objects into poetic works that challenged traditional ideas of sculpture and representation. 

His works are represented in major museum collections worldwide, including the Centre Pompidou, Paris, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Tate Modern, London, the Kunstmuseum Bern, and the Museum Tinguely, Basel. Original assemblages by Daniel Spoerri remain highly sought after by collectors for their uniqueness, historical importance and strong association with post-war European avant-garde art.
